SEA BUCKTHORN | Botanical Study

The "Botanical studies" collection by Polina Laamanen is a profound exploration of embroidery techniques featuring hand-modified textile elements. Each piece meticulously imitates a photographic depth, blurring the background to emphasize detailed, intricate foregrounds of floral and botanical motifs. The works range from 11 cm to 17 cm in diameter, with each inviting a closer examination of the unique texture and form of plant subjects. Each artwork is framed in a white round frame. Polina aspires to expand this technique into larger formats, dreaming of creating a massive, 1-meter round artwork depicting a field of white clover.
